I am fascinated by clumps of trees on hilltops. I love spotting them when I’m driving and wonder about their origins, who planted them and why they might be there. They always feel quite significant. I’ve been told they are ancient burial grounds which has only added to my fascination with them. This particular group of trees are known by many who drive down to Cornwall and are on the Cornish, Devon border, a welcome sight to mark a significant point in a journey.
